Counsellors have varying backgrounds (social work, psychology) specialising in: couple / relationship / family counselling, drug/substance abuse, youth, mental health, mediation, grief and loss, trauma, parenting, etc. Our service of course is available to all individuals regardless of their: religious affiliations, sexual or gender preferences, cultural background, age, or marital status. You have the choice of either a male or female counsellor, or both (co-facilitated/co-gendered sessions). Our fees are as follows: Individual counselling - 60 minutes $80 or 90 minutes $110. Couple counselling - 60 minutes $95 or 90 minutes $125. Co-facilitated counselling sessions - 60 minutes $115 or 90 minutes $145 10% discount applies to concession card holders. Medicare Rebates: a Medicare Allied Health Initiative. When referred to Core Connections by your GP under an Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) plan, a Medicare rebate of $47.85 will be given. This applies to those who have complex care needs and chronic conditions which are being managed by their GP. The initiative entitles you to five sessions per calendar year. Better Access to Mental Health Care initiative: Medicare rebate of $67.50 is available when referred by your GP under a Mental Health Care Plan, or a Psychiatrist assessment and management plan, with an assessed mental disorder. You are entitled to12 sessions per calendar year. After the first six sessions there will be a review by the referring practitioner. If deemed suitable, a further six sessions will follow. The term mental disorder is used to describe clinically diagnosable conditions that are considerably impacting a persons social, cognitive or emotional abilities. Such disorders include: Chronic psychotic disorders Acute psychotic disorders Schizophrenia Bipolar disorder Phobic disorders Generalised anxiety disorder Adjustment disorder unexplained somatic complaints Depression Sexual disorders Conduct disorder Bereavement disorders Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Eating disorders Panic disorder Alcohol use disorders Drug use disorders Mixed anxiety and depression Disassociate (conversion) disorder Neurasthenia Sleep problems Hyper kinetic attention deficit) disorder Enuresis (non-organic) Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Mental disorder, not otherwise specified www.medicareaustralia.com.au.
